How

to find us

We are located on Thorn road (B1240) heading to the By-Pass if you’re coming out of Hedon. You will be able to clearly see signs on that road and the parking is directly off the road. There is also a Bus route available which stops just opposite our entrance.

Car and Vehicle

Parking

We have plenty of parking available on site including disabled parking bays. You will be directed where to park on arrival and there is a one way system in place.

What

to Wear

We are located in the field where the pumpkins grow – this means that in October there will be mud! Hopefully not too much but we would strongly advise wearing wellies and not your best white clothing!

We love seeing happy muddy children getting dirty picking their pumpkins – puddle suits that you can strip them out of later work a treat!

Although there are grass tracks we advise that baby carriers tend to work better than pushing prams around.

For our Sunflower picking event in August we are hoping for lovely dry weather which should be pram and wheelchair friendly. Although we do stress that again we are still in a field so the terrain cannot be guaranteed!

What Else is on

Sandy Bottom Farm

Inside the site you will find over 75,000 pumpkins, squashes and gourds of every variety you could wish for! PYO Sunflowers, PYO corn on the cob, free use of a 1.5 acre AMAZE MAZE, Creepy Crawley Bug House, Amazing Pumpkin House, Giant Chairs and various other super photo spots.

For the Summer Sunflower event there will be loads of new props, a NEW sand play area, pedal tractor driving, Ice cream, Strawberries and Delicious food and drinks available!

For both events you will be able to meet our resident bee keepers with the sandy bottom bees offering their honey for sale and all sorts of interesting bee facts!

Are there any different activities to pumpkin picking?

Yes absolutely – We have the amazing Fantastic Faces there offering all sorts of wonderful face paint looks as well as this year running a crafts tent. There will be different activities running in the crafts tent on different days such as pumpkin painting and Harry Potter crafts. Keep an eye out on our socials to see what will be on offer.

Frequently Asked

Questions

  • Are you push chair and wheelchair friendly?

We do have disabled parking bays right next to the entrance and disabled loos, as well as baby change. There are also grass strips around the edge and through the field that are better for wheels if the weather hasn’t been too wet. But we are based in a field and therefore can’t guarantee it will be easy to navigate with a pram or pushchair. We strongly recommend baby carriers for small children as an alternative.

  • Will there be food?

There is a variety of food and drink available on site.

  • Can I smoke?

No smoking is permitted on site or in the carpark.

  • How do we carry our pumpkins?

We have wheelbarrows that you can use to carry your pumpkins around the site and take to your car before returning them. We don’t provide any bags or a wash station for the pumpkins so they may be muddy. Bin liners in the car boot are a good idea.

  • How do we pay?

We take card or cash as do the majority of the vendors on site.

  • Can we bring a dog?

Unfortunately we don’t allow any furry friends at the pumpkin site they will need to stay at home for your visit.

  • What will we wear?

We strongly recommend that you wear wellies or similar footwear as we are in a field and it is october! We would also advise waterproof clothing especially for little ones you like to get hands on with the pumpkins!

  • Is there Shelter

Yes we have a marquee with picnic benches in it for you to enjoy your food and give you some shelter. This is however an open sided marquee we don’t have a proper ‘inside’ area.

  • Loos?

yes we have plenty of loos available including disabled and baby change.
